YOUR COSTA DEL SOL PROPERTY · PLANNING FROM ABROAD

Painting your Costa del Sol home while you are abroad.

You can begin planning the painting of your Costa del Sol property before you arrive in Spain. The important details are the same as for any project: a clear scope, suitable access and agreed decisions. A local keyholder and a written communication plan can make those arrangements easier to manage.

Give the project a clear starting point

Send the town or area, property type, rooms or exterior surfaces involved and your preferred completion window. Current photographs are more useful than old sales images. Include wider views and close-ups of any cracks, stains or peeling paint.

Say whether the property is occupied, empty or used for holiday rentals. If you have an arrival, guest booking or furniture delivery planned, include the date so it can be considered when discussing availability and the work sequence.

Agree who can provide access

A property manager, agent or trusted keyholder may be able to arrange an assessment and access for the work. Identify that person and confirm what they are authorised to do. Community rules, parking and permitted hours also need to be understood.

Access arrangements should be agreed directly before a visit. You do not need to put alarm codes or other sensitive access information into the initial website enquiry.

Keep colour and scope decisions in writing

Agree who approves the quote, colour references, products and any changes. Screen images are useful for discussing ideas, but they do not show paint colour reliably. A physical sample can be reviewed by you or an authorised person at the property.

The written quote should identify surfaces, preparation, access, protection, materials, exclusions, taxes and agreed timing. If the scope changes, decide how the extra work and its price will be approved before it begins.

Choose how you want to stay informed

Discuss the main point of contact and the most useful moments for updates. For example, you may want to review preparation, confirm a sample or see an area before furniture is returned. Agree the format and frequency of updates as part of the project arrangements.

  • Choose one person who can approve decisions on your behalf.
  • Record any dates when access or contact will be limited.
  • Agree how unexpected surface conditions will be discussed.

Plan the final review before work starts

Discuss who will review the completed work: you, your property manager or another authorised person. Photographs or a video call may support that review. Agree the handover arrangements, any outstanding items and the product and colour references you would like recorded for future maintenance.

Questions before you start

Can I start without visiting Spain?

Yes. Send the initial project details from wherever you are. A local assessment may still be needed, so tell us whether someone can provide access and help confirm the property's condition.

Can you work with my property manager?

Include your manager in the proposed arrangements. Confirm who provides access, who receives updates and who is authorised to approve the quote and any changes.

Can the work be finished before my next guests arrive?

Share both the departure and arrival dates before scheduling. Suitability depends on the scope, access, preparation, product drying requirements and team availability. A date is agreed after these have been reviewed.

Tell us what needs painting

Send your property's location, the work you have in mind, your preferred dates and whether a local keyholder can help with access.
